Why well-being?

Research has shown that working on well-being is an investment rather than a waste of effort and resources!

Research has shown that:

  • workplace well-being policies and activities promote the satisfaction and productivity of the employees;
  • workplace well-being policy and activities lead to lower costs for employers;
  • a well-being-based safety policy can result in major savings for health insurers and governments ;
  • well-being-based activities in society can improve the resilience, empowerment and assertiveness of the citizenry.

A properly structured psychosocial policy in an organisation strives to achieve optimal harmony between the objectives of the organisation and the objectives of the employees. Good harmony leads to a general feeling of well-being in the workplace. And well-being is beneficial to performance.
In addition, the employer is legally obligated to identify the risks of psychosocial pressures caused by the work, to take the appropriate prevention measures and to implement a policy to prevent such issues from arising.

It is also beneficial for individuals to work on their general well-being: they improve their resilience and ability to deal with stress, learn to deal with difficult situations, learn to identity symptoms of depression early, exercise in cooperation, etc.
