Past projects

Some of the projects that ISW carried out in the past:

Mentorship

The project was aimed at older blue-collar employees (50+) at Messer Benelux. The aim of the project was to give those older workers a different role in the company through mentorship where, on the one hand, several complaints that they had formulated specifically were dealt with and, on the other hand, a real need of the organisation itself was met, namely the transfer of knowledge to younger workers. In that way, we wanted to improve the well-being of the older workers so that they would continue to be motivated at work.
The project was embedded in the well-being policy of the organisation and was an extension of the Well-being Survey that Messer had ISW Limits carry out in 2007.

Mobbing (Bullying)

The 'Bullying in the Workplace' project ran from April 2003 through June 2008 on behalf of the European Social Fund, and the Federal Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social Consultation. It had two parallel objectives. One was to optimise intervention methodologies. The other was to provide practical tools to professionals to help them diagnose undesirable behaviour and set priorities for further activities in the area of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of undesirable behaviour. In addition, training programmes and awareness-building sessions were held on the subject of specific risks with respect to undesirable behaviour at work. The employees themselves and their managers received training about the issue of undesirable behaviour and preventing and dealing with possible problems.

Preventagri: Agricall

The 'Preventagri' project was financed by ESF and the Federal Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social Consultation and was intended to improve safety and well-being among farmers and horticulturalists.

Agricall was a sub-project within the umbrella Preventagri project. Agricall was concerned with supporting farmers and horticulturalists with psycho-social problems. The sub-project started in November 2011 and ended in June 2008.

The psycho-social support for farmers and horticulturalists is being continued through the vzw Boeren op een Kruispunt (Farmer at the Crossroads Foundation), which is financial by the Flemish Government, Cera, the King Boudewijn Foundation and the agricultural organisations. The Foundation also provides financial, legal and business support to farmers and horticulturalists.

Stress in the workplace

The ESF 'Stress in the workplace' project started in early 2002 and concluded at the end of 2007. The primary objective of this project was reducing the stress levels of Belgian workers. To that end, ISW Limits provided the S-ISW measurement instrument, to make it possible for all companies to carry out a good measurement at minimum costs as part of a dynamic risk-prevention policy. The project had two components: (1) developing a diagnostic instrument for stress and well-being in the workplace that could be offered for free, and (2) evaluating interventions related to stress and well-being in the workplace.
